You Posh Tea Drinkers.....

Well, don't suppose you have to be posh, but just wondering about Herbal Teas etc. Have started trying a few lately, and found a really delicious one, but apparently it's an "infusion" (Twinings Echinacea & Raspberry). Ummmm, is there any difference? Does an infusion not have the benefits of a proper Herbal Tea? Oh, and any recommendations for Herbal Teas/Infusions that are quite sweet?

Well "herbal tea" is a misnomer, because herbal infusions usually aren't made using the tea plant (dunno scientific name, camellia somethingorother), so that's why i guess it's called an infusion. But so yeah herbal tea = infusion. Just is different named to not imply it has "tea plant" in it. Hope that makes sense coz I'm always crap at explaining shit.

And i never really find the fruity infusions sweet enough, so i tend to add honey coz i like it sweet. Unless it's a strictly herbal one, then i wont bother.

Taste is very subjective, but, despite disliking their name, I do like some of the 'zinger' flavours of Celestial Seasonings. You'll see there they also have a sampler box, as do some other brands.

Milo... is my hot drink of choice, usually with marshmallows, whipped cream and grated choccy on top.

I'm a hot drink whore. No preference between tea, coffee, infusions, hot chocs, etc. Love em all.

I like lipton ice tea

and

Cranberry teas by healtheries or something.

they're the only teas i can drink.. 1 cold and 1 hot

There is only one plant that produces tea:Camillia sinesis

All others are herbal infusions.

I am tea fanatic, and drink far too much of it.

But I like some of the herbal jobs too.

my favourite is rooibus (red bush) tea by red seal and also love Sonnentor Body balance Fruit tea from Austria.

Pomegranate tea is lovely with a slightly sweet tangy taste... and you can get a variety of different ones.

I love drinking green teas, licorice teas and peppermint teas.

Although I have to have my usual "normal" tea too and the odd coffee or mochaccino or milo.

Thanks for all the helpful info ~ makes sense that it is called an 'Infusion' instead of a Tea now, and I also know which type I want to be looking for.

Another question ~ how do you make Iced Tea? The flavour I'm drinking says that it's delicious either hot or cold (which it is), so I thought it might make a good Iced Tea.......

i only drink ice tea with lemon. Therefore i am unable to assist you with your question.
